Panasonic blood pressure monitors has a digital filter sensor that detects and isolates only the essential pulse oscillation, and eliminates other noise functions for a proven accurate measurement. The ew-bu04w allows for one-touch auto inflate which allows for readings to be taken during inflation to prevent over-tightening of the cuff. Other main features that this unit has is a irregular pulse function/body movement detection, that insures maximum accuracy and will automatically detect any arm movement or irregular pulse and will display a icon alerting you to retake the measurement. Hypertension readings are very important and this unit will alert you to those readings by displaying a flashing number. The cuff circumference is approximately 7 3/4 inches to 15 inches. The slim design makes it convenient for storage or portability with the cuff rolling around the monitor and fitting neatly into the included storage pouch. This unit as comes equipped with aaa batteries. Optional large cuff (ew3901s) is available and well as a AC adapter (ew-2b02w). dimensions are: 1 3/4 inches(h) x 6 12/ inches (w) x 2 3/4 inches (d), 7.4 ounce (without batteries).

I had an older style Omron cuff maching, which, while it worked fine, was very noisy and took a while to take a reading, leaving your arm sore as its circulation gets cut off for so long a time. To my amazement, the Panny here solved these two issues - virtually little to no noise at all; I could use these in the dead of night with someone sleeping right next to me and not worry. The readings also come out very quick - at least four times faster than my old Omron. I'm very pleased with this unit and to have it be travel-size is an even greater bonus since you can take it with you on trips without being a burden. This is a great compact blood pressure monitor. Easy to get set up. I was a bit surprised at how it took the readings. Normally a monitor pumps up the cuff and slowly releases pressure and goes down to get a reading. This one takes the readings as it is inflating the cuff. Different experience for me.The memory feature is okay. Wish it had date record of the readings instead of saving 50 readings. The display is excellent. The unit has a small case for travel. Very compact. I tested the readings with another bigger unit and they were close enough so I know the readings I got are accurate. I've had a few different home monitors over the years and the upper arm ones are so hard to get on correctly. This is a perfect design if you want to do it yourself. The arm band has a flexible preformed arm cuff.You kinda of "snap" it on your upper arm, line up the cord with your middle finger then close the cuff with the hook and loop pads.It has numbers on the band so you can put it on exactly the same each time. I was slightly concerned it may not fit my upper arm but I had tons of room.It is so easy then you push one button and it inflates a bit slower than some but then right when you think "oh my it's tight" poof it is done and you have your instant answer. I had it out of the box and had my blood pressure in less than 90 seconds.It has an alert also if you have an irregular pulse. I was very pleased to see 111/76 pulse 73.
