This wrist BP cuff was exactly what I was looking for. Directions were simple and it is easy to use. Holding my wrist, palm side up, anywhere between my abdomen and chest area seems to work fine. The first wrist BP cuff I bought at a store would not work unless held against my chest over my heart, in exactly the right spot, and then it only worked once. My wrist circumference is 8-1/4 inches, so I was concerned about it fitting, but no worries there. My dentist's office uses 3 different ones and told me this one was their favorite, even though it was the less expensive one. The BP readings are right inline with the dentist and physician office. I would recommend this wrist BP cuff to anyone who must take their own BP due to the ease of use, its accuracy, and the inexpensive price. Plus, I would not hesitate to purchase it from Amazon.com.

I purchased this product in early November 2009 after being diagnosed with hyper tension. The directions were clear. I started using this product immediaitely. On November 26, 2009 I had taken my high blood pressure medicine in the morning. My reading was 144/84 . In the afternoon I did not feel right. I used this item to check my blood pressue. The reading was 213/110. I took a second reading. The second reading was the about the same. I mmediately went to the emergency room at the hospital. The hospital confirmed my very high blood pressure and began immediate treatment. I was subsequently admitted to the hospital. Without this device I would not have known how serious the situation was. I continued to use the devise after I returned from the hospital. I highly recommend this item. The original batteries did not last long and I replaced them almost immediately with Alkaline AAA Batteries. The replacement batteries are working fine.

This product was disappointing. I've found the accuracy to be poor. The readings have been wildly inconsistent. Because you take the readings from your wrist, the placement of your wrist has to be perfectly aligned with your heart - and it must be that way consistently to get comparative readings. It your arm is off angle by a few degrees, your reading will be wrong. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this product if you are really relying on it to accurtatly test your BP. The return shipping and 15% restocking fee by Discouint Jungle make a return impracticle. Amazon should not allow its merchants to charge a restocking fee for a product that fails to meet your expectations.

To take an accurate reading, first position the green marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm.
Next, place your arm on a table so the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart.
Instructions for Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm.
Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. As a primary care physician, I've seen a lot of BP monitors that my patients bring to the office to check for accuracy and other features. This one seems to be the best. The easy to apply cuff, auto inflation, its accuracy, the memory, the averaging feature, the AC converter all make it worth the slightly higher price over other Omrons, which I consider the most accurate brand. Since I too have high blood pressure, I decided to buy one myself!

I work for a major rx chain, have sold many of these models. This one is the best of the omron line. The cuff is awesome, easy to wrap around the arm. We sell this unit for 1oo bucks. I should have bought mine at amazon.

I haven't had the chance to conpare this unit to the readings at the doctors office (taking them at the same time). But I have taken readings at the drug store and then 5 min later taking it at home. It does seem to give true readings. They has never been any really off readings. No wild swings.
It is very easy to use and comes with good instructions and a nice carrying case. Makes it easy to take on vacation with you. AC adapter makes it where you don't have to worry about dead batteries.
